Empire Builder - February 9, 2014

After a breakfast from the lounge car (the dining car was still in Spokane) we sat back to enjoy the trip.  We had wisely changed our reservations on the Capital out of Chicago for two days later, so being late was not really a worry for us.  The trip was interesting in that, because we were so late, we saw lots of scenery that we had never seen on previous trips.  We had spectacular scenery through the Rockies, with lots of snow.

We had several meals with young men who were working in the North Dakota oil fields.  It made for some interesting conversations.  Most of them work two weeks on and one week off, so they travel back and forth to visit their families in other states.
