Ilhabela, Brazil - March 3, 2014

We arrived early in Ilhabela.  I had searched for information on this port, but I found nothing.  So we figured we'd probably just stay onboard and let the other passengers go on tours snorkeling and offroading.  But this is a really beautiful island, which is what its name means.  It is a short distance off the coast of Brazil, south of Rio.  There are lots of beautiful homes on the hillsides, and the small downtown is charming.

The population here is only 30,000.  There is no cruise port here, so we had to go ashore on tenders.  We spent several hours ashore, walking and looking for birds.  I'm sure the locals hope the cruise lines won't find out about Ilhabela, because it could easily be ruined by big time tourism.

We sailed at 5:00 for Buenos Aires.
