We left Lafayette at 7:15. The roads were clear the whole way, but there was lots of snow, all the way to Birmingham, Alabama. It was a pretty drive, and we saw some interesting things as we whizzed through. We drove right past the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where just the day before a large sinkhole had swallowed up several cars. There would be a photo here of it, but we couldn't stop long enough to take one. We drove through some really beautiful horse country, and passed Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. This is downtown Louisville.
And we went through Nashville,
Tennessee.
This rocket was at the rest stop near Huntsville, Alabama.
We had dinner in a Shoney's buffet in Montgomery,
Alabama.
Fried chicken, green beans with bacon, cornbread. We got our yearly quota of y'alls in less
than an hour. At midnight we stopped for the night in Tallahassee.
