Cartagena, Spain - November 4, 2017

We arrived at 7:30 in Cartagena.  It was sunny and pleasant.  After breakfast we walked into town with a list of several sights to see.  Cartagena's history goes way back, and is evident everywhere.  We saw the Roman theater and the Roman forum.  We took a ride up a panoramic lift to the top of the highest hill for a spectacular view.  The most interesting thing was what was called La Casa de Fortuna.  It was first discovered in 1971 and excavated in 2000.  It's the remains of a house, part of the ancient city built in the first century B.C. by the Romans.  The whole house is underneath a modern commercial building.  When we came out of the underground site, the sun had gone and the temperature had dropped.  So we returned to the ship.  We sailed at 3:30.

Miles walked: 5
