Mediterranean Adventure - October 20 - December 8, 2017

We left Ft. Lauderdale on time at 4:00 on the Holland America Veendam. The weather was hot and humid.  On our second day out, the captain announced that we would be making a detour to Bermuda to drop off a passenger.  It was the first of several detours that we would make for medical attention.  The weather continued to be warm and sunny.  We saw our first flying fish.  By the fifth day the weather became cooler and cloudy and the seas became rougher.  The trip across the Atlantic was long but comfortable.  We spent the time exploring the ship, reading, and of course eating.
