Palermo, Italy - November 22, 2017

Lovely weather, ugly city.  Right off the bat we were harassed relentlessly by people offering tours and taxis.  It was a real turnoff.  The city itself has a grimy feel.  The streets were littered with trash and cigarette butts.  We did manage a pretty good walk, seeing several highlights including the Teatro Massimo.  It claims to be the second largest performance hall in Europe, after the Paris Opera House.  It was impressive.  But we felt a little uneasy as we tried to walk some of the back streets.  We ended up sticking to the main roads.  We got back to the ship in time for lunch.

Miles walked: 5.7
