Naples, Italy - November 11, 2017

We had a walking tour planned for Naples.  The day was nice and sunny, so we headed uphill to our starting point, the Museum of Archaeology.  Along the way we visited the Domo, a very beautiful cathedral.  From there we continued past a number of other historic buildings and piazzas.  Our walk ended on Via Toledo, the main shopping street of Naples.  It was Saturday and the streets were very crowded with locals.  There were very few tourists, other than an occasional group on foot.  We had a pizza for lunch, then had a gelato.  The streets in Naples are absolutely insane.  Cars and scooters were whizzing around madly, totally disregarding other vehicles.  Apparently traffic laws and signals are merely suggestions.  We had learned that Naples is the birthplace of four things: pizza, gelato, Vespas, and Sophia Loren.  We never saw Sophia, but we checked off the other three.

Miles walked: 7
