Livorno, Italy - November 9, 2017

After a day at sea cruising the Bonifacio Strait, we arrived in Livorno.  Most tourists would go to Florence from here, but we decided that a few hours in Florence would be frustrating, so we had booked a tour to Tuscany.  Unfortunately, not enough passengers signed up for it, so it was cancelled.  Instead we took a tour that took us to Lucca.  The old town was really lovely and not spoiled yet by tourists.  Our guide spoke perfect English and was excellent.  She even sang Nessun Dorma at the music school where Puccini studied.  It was cold and overcast, but we still enjoyed the visit.  We got back to the ship in time for lunch.  Later in the afternoon it started to rain, and it continued steadily for the rest of the day.

Miles walked: 4.5
